Who We Are
Ullapool Laundry Services is owned and managed by Kirsty MacLeod, who has lived in the neighbouring parish of Assynt for over twenty years. With a background in business management and administration, she has run Assynt Office Services as a part time business since 2004. Kirsty took over the laundry in 2019 and the business has grown in terms of new and returning customers, investment in new equipment and staffing, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Having all worked in the hospitality industry locally over the years (hotel reception, waitressing and housekeeping as well as holiday let change-overs) Kirsty and the team have a wealth of experience of laundry requirements from the customer's viewpoint.
We pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service in order to ensure that all of our clients are 100% satisfied.
History
The laundry in Ullapool was founded in the 1990s by Angela Ford, who built the business from scratch after identifying a need arising from the growth of tourism in the area. As well as running a self-catering business, Angela now spends much of her time volunteering and playing at Ullapool Golf Club where she is Ladies Captain.
The laundry operated as a branch of West Coast Wash House Ltd of Lochinver from 2016 until Kirsty MacLeod purchased the business in early August 2019.
Vivien Macleod and Carol Wink worked at the Ullapool laundry for many years, both for Angela and West Coast Wash House Ltd, contributing a wealth of experience in handling large volumes, and provided invaluable support to Kirsty in taking over the operation. Vivien is Assistant Manager and Carol still helps out from time to time in the busy summer period. Elaine joined the team in September 2021.
